Hi, my name is Jon Boley and this is my site. I am continually modifying this website, so
please pardon any broken links and blank pages.
My name is actually Jonathan, but most of my friends call me Jon.
I am currently working on my Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University.
Before that, I was a Senior DSP Engineer at Shure Incorporated.
Before that, I went to school at the University of Miami, where I received my M.S. in Music Engineering.
And before that, I received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois
(at Urbana-Champaign).
My friends seem to be constantly amazed at the number of hobbies I have, so feel free to check out
my Hobbies page. Several of them might be considered extreme, and I've
been accused of being an adrenaline junkie but that's really not why I do those things.
My motivation is merely to learn new things- anything that seems interesting. The motivation for
the extra-ordinary things that I do probably comes from movies like the James Bond series. If I
see Bond do something I don't know how to do, I set out to learn it. The next Bond hobby I want
to learn is sailing...
I've been asked many times what my favorite hobby/activity of them all is. My answer is always the
same- simply hanging out with friends.
